When Xcode gives an error like “Use of undeclared identifier XYZdummyItem“, this means that the compiler doesn’t know about your XYZdummyItem when it’s compiling your view controller. Compilers are very particular and need to be told explicitly what to pay attention to.
To tell the compiler to pay attention to your custom item class;
- Find the #import “XYZdummyListViewController.h” line near the top of the XYZdummyViewController.m file.
- Add the following line immediately below it:
- #import “XYZdummyItem.h”
